Detailed description of the project content:

Hotel Orchidea Kft. submitted a grant application for the Ginop-4.1.5-22 tender, which was successfully awarded, and the activities planned in the project were completed on schedule. Using the grant money, we significantly reduced the operating costs of the building complex by implementing activities aimed at increasing the use of renewable energy.
One such investment is the installation of a solar panel system for grid-connected electricity generation, and the other is the use of an air-source, electrically powered heat pump system for reheating and maintaining the temperature of the pool water. Following the completion of these investments, renewable energy accounts for 38.7% of the energy used to operate the complex. The building uses the highest proportion of electricity during operation. A solar panel system was installed to partially replace this. The system for producing hot water for technological purposes has also been modernized with the installation of an air-water heat pump system. Investments have also been made to improve the energy efficiency of the building’s structure through external thermal insulation. The building’s lighting system has also been modernized to improve energy efficiency. As a result of these developments, the property has been classified as a “BB” building, which is close to zero energy consumption. The estimated annual primary energy consumption will be reduced by more than half, resulting in significant cost savings. Furthermore, the use of renewable energy is even more in line with the nature-oriented profile of the hotel, which is also beneficial for guests. The planned energy upgrades serve to strengthen environmentally conscious economic competitiveness, reduce environmental impact and primary energy consumption, and alleviate the company’s overhead costs.
